Should You be Screened for Hepatitis C?
Free screening Saturday; the CDC recommends anyone born from 1945-1965, as well as anyone with a history of IV drug use, to be screened.

Did you know that Baby Boomers are five times more likely to have Hepatitis C, and that most people with Hep C don’t know they are infected?
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommends that anyone born from 1945 through 1965, as well as anyone with a history of intravenous drug use regardless of their age, be screened for Hepatitis C.
On Saturday, Aug. 22, from 7:30 a.m. to noon, free Hepatitis C screenings will be offered at Families First Health and Support Center. They are open to the entire community, with no appointments needed. Staff from the Joan G. Lovering Health Center will administer the screenings, which are done with a simple finger-stick. Results are available to the patient before they leave the office.
