“We are very excited to once again be based at the Strawbery Banke Museum and have the course wind through the historic streets of Portsmouth. This will be our 6th running of the Komen NH 5K ” said Carolyn Ostrom, the Komen NH Race Chair. Drawing women, men and children from the coastline and interior of New England, Ostrom said that race participants come to run, walk, amble and mingle with friends, family, co-workers, and, "meet new people who have a common purpose, wiping out breast cancer forever!" There will also be great food, vendor giveaways, kid’s activities, and a silent auction open to the public.

All proceeds from the Race support Susan G. Komen New England and the local fight against breast cancer through community grants and research. Komen New England has awarded nearly $8 million to New Hampshire and Vermont organizations that provide breast cancer education, screening, diagnostics, treatment and support services and nearly $8 million to fund breast cancer research.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is presented by Bank of America and nationally sponsored by, American Airlines, Ford, and New Balance. Local area sponsors include Bavarian Autosport, Strawbery Bank Museum and Sperry Tents Seacoast.
