The snow is falling, and that means it is nearly time for New Heights' Ski & Snowboard Club at Lincoln Street School in Exeter.

The snow is falling, and that means it is nearly time for New Heights' Ski & Snowboard Club at Lincoln Street School in Exeter. Nat Morgan, adventure programmer, said he is excited to offer the program to 5th graders for the first time.

"We have already seen tons of interest, so this really is an audience with a need to be addressed," he said.

The program will take place on four Wednesday with dates to include Jan. 10, 24, 31 and Feb. 7. The destination will be McIntyre Ski Area in Manchester and the cost is $190.

"Students will have access to gear rentals and ski and snowboard lessons, so everyone is welcome," he said.

According to Sally Gregory, adventure coordinator, the program represents New Heights' continued effort to provide programs that are as relevant as they are fun.

"This program was designed based on input from both parents and students," she said. "We want youth to want to be here, so it's important we create fun and engaging opportunities. Adventure-based experiences are great because they also give kids the chance to push themselves and develop some confidence, too."

Founded in 1987, New Heights provides experiential learning programs that range from adventure and art to STEAM. Once offered just out-of-school, many of these programs are now available in the classroom and/or during the school day in select school districts.
