When Does the Newington Trader Joe's Open?

Trader Joe's Team Captain Micah O'Malley expects to see hundreds of shoppers when the Newington store opens its doors on Friday morning and they will be greeted with plenty of exciting fanfare.

O'Malley said a lei cutting will take place with Trader Joe's staff at 7:55 a.m. before the doors of the store at the Crossings at Fox Run open to all members of the public at 8 a.m. The new store will be open from Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The first few hundred shoppers will also be welcomed with a Hawaiian style lei by Trader Joe's staff, O'Malley said Tuesday morning. There will also be live music and face painting for the kids, he said.

The more than 14,000-square-foot space that was previously occupied by Pet Quarters has been transformed into a very inviting Trader Joe's-esque store that features cedar wood display shelves and walls with Hawaiian-style decor. from the Seacoast area to staff the new store.

The Newington store also features many murals that will pay homage to New Hampshire and the Seacoast, including Trader Joe's murals of the USS Albacore, Portsmouth tugboats, and a New Hampshire license plate located in the front entrance area.

"We're hoping for a big turnout," O'Malley said.

When Trader Joe's patrons enter the new store, they will be able to purchase several organic food items along with an extensive selection of beer and wines. They will also be able to buy signature Trader Joe's items such as freshly baked artisan breads and Arabica bean coffees.

On Thursday, will get to tour the new store and taste samples of the new food products.

Since Trader Joe's first announced it was coming to Newington back in January, the anticipation and excitement surrounding the new store has been very high.

Trader Joe's opened a store in Nashua earlier this year and has 320 stores in 32 states.
