Troopers, Portsmouth Fire, Police Assist with Medical on I-95

A man was transported to Portsmouth Hospital this morning.

On Oct. 12, at approximately 1046 hours, troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks responded to a report of a driver suffering a medical emergency on I-95 northbound in the city of Portsmouth.

Upon arrival, troopers made contact with an unconscious male operator and his passenger. The driver was able to pull over safely into the breakdown lane prior to losing consciousness.

The male driver was attended to by the responding troopers and members of the Portsmouth Fire Department. He was transported to the Portsmouth Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Portsmouth Fire Department and the Portsmouth Police Department.

The identity of the male driver is not being released at this point. The investigation revealed that the cause of this incident was a medical emergency suffered by the male operator.
