Local storytelling program, True Tales Live, has released its themes and dates for programs in the new year and is seeking storytellers. True Tales particularly seeks nonprofessional tellers.
True Tales Live, a first-person experience storytelling program, is recorded on the last Tuesdays of most months from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in front of a live audience at PPMtv, 280 Marcy St, Portsmouth NH for airing on Comcast Channel 98. Show dates this year will be: January 30, February 27, March 27, May 1, May 29, June 26, September 25, October 30 and November 27.
Producer and founder John Lovering said: “I am so appreciative of our crew, storytellers, and audiences that have made it possible for True Tales Live to begin its 5th year of sharing our first-person stories here, in the seacoast community.”

On True Tales Live, local people have the opportunity to step up to the microphone and tell a true story related to a monthly theme. To be a True Tale, the teller needs to have witnessed or participated in it. Each person has 10 minutes to tell their story. There is no rating or judging.
The themes for this coming year are: Then Everything Changed, Overcoming, Out On A Limb, What Was I Thinking?, Neighbors, Bridges: Crossings And Connections, It Could Have Been Worse, Coming Of Age: On Growing Up or Growing Older.

True Tales Emcee, Pat Spalding shared: "I listen to stories at True Tales Live shows and workshops to learn. The more I learn, the more I understand the importance of crafting our human experience into a good story to share with others. By sharing our stories in community, we encourage each other's lives to thrive."
A studio audience of up to 30 people can be accommodated at the station. Free and open to the public with no reservation needed.
The show airs on local Comcast Channel 98 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM and Saturdays at 1:00 PM and is available under the True Tales Live playlist anytime at www.youtube.com/ppmtv.
Monthly storytelling workshops are also held at PPMtv. On the first Tuesday of most months from 7:30 to 9:00pm, True Tales Live’s own Pat Spalding, Amy Antonucci, and David Phraener offer assistance in developing and honing each person's piece into a compelling ten minute story. These workshops are free and open to all. This year's workshops dates are: January 9, February 6, March 6, April 3, May 8, June 5, September 4, October 2, and November 6.
