Watch 'The Lion King' on The Big Screen at Prescott Park Tonight

The movie starts at dusk.

Prescott Park Arts Festival have teamed up with Service Credit Union for the 2012 Summer Season to present the outdoor movie series on Monday nights. Each Monday night through September, attendees can view some of the most popular and beloved films of all time in Portsmouth's Prescott Park.

On July 23 audiences will fall in love all over again with Disney's "The Lion King," a cherished film for the whole family. Attendees will watch the 1994 animated musical adventures of the young lion cub, Simba, who is to take his father Mufasa's place as king. But, his uncle, Scar, craves the title of being king for himself and will stop at nothing, even killing his own brother, to get it. Fans will relish in viewing the highest-grossing animated film of the 20th century on the big screen again as Simba learns and grows with his good friends Timon and Pumba.

"The Lion King is one of the timeless Disney Classics, and we are thrilled to be able to bring this film back to the big screen at Prescott Park," says Prescott Park Arts Festival's executive director Ben Anderson. "Sitting in your chairs and blankets under the stars will bring back the novelty and nostalgia of going to the drive-in movies."

The movie series is the result of a long-term goal and intensive fundraising. The festival organizers were able to purchase a high-definition projector and movie screen, specially designed for the projection of outdoor movies. Combined with the existing sound system utilized for concerts, the result is a high quality film screen experience for the whole family to enjoy.

"Movies in the Park is proudly sponsored by Service Credit Union and we're thrilled to be a part of bringing back this family favorite event," says Karen Benedetti, Service Credit Union's Vice President of Marketing. "Service Credit Union is dedicated to helping local families in communities where we live and work. We are proud to support no-to-low cost family events as part of the credit union philosophy of people helping people."
