Wheelabrator employees raise nearly $4,000 for fight against cancer in summer fundraiser

Cancer survivor and 10 other Wheelabrator employees and family members participate in Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

KINGSTON, N.H. (August 15, 2013) — Employees of Wheelabrator Technologies raised nearly $4,000 for the fight against cancer at the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay For Life event, held this summer at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, N.H.

 

The 11-person Wheelabrator team, which included employees and their families, including a cancer survivor, raised $3,700 during the 24-hour walk that brought in a total of $50,000.

Wheelabrator has participated in the Relay for Life for more than 20 years, raising more than $100,000 during that period.

Relay For Life, the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society, is an event series joining more than 4 million people in 5,200 communities across the globe to honor survivors and remember loved ones that lost their lives to the disease.
