PORTSMOUTH, NH — A Seacoast woman who was recently living in the Bay State perished last night in a crash on I-95 in Portsmouth, according to New Hampshire State Police. Courtney Hickson, 36, of Chelsea, MA, was a passenger in a vehicle that lost control during the tail end of yesterday’s snowstorm and was subsequently struck by a tractor-trailer truck on the southern side of the highway. NHSP troopers as well as Portsmouth and Rye Police as well as Portsmouth Fire and Rescue teams were called to the crash just after 6:30 p.m.
“All southbound lanes of the Interstate were closed for approximately two and a half hours in the area of Exit 7 while this collision was investigated,” according to Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A.
According to the investigation, a 2012 Honda Civic – being driven by a Boston, MA, man – attempted to change lanes in front of the tractor-trailer and lost control resulting in the passenger side of the vehicle being struck by the truck.
