YMCA of the Seacoast Announces Opening of New Child Care Program

Organizers hope the Y's School's Out Program (SOP) at Camp Gundalow in Greenland will be a healthy place to strive.

GREENLAND, NH — As part of an ongoing effort to provide healthy after school options for local children, the YMCA of the Seacoast is pleased to announce the opening of the Y’s School’s Out Program (SOP) at Camp Gundalow in Greenland, according to a press statement. Staffed by caring and trained YMCA child care professionals, SOP at Camp Gundalow offers a wide range of activities including supervised homework time, physical fitness, arts & crafts, and STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) with a variety of enrichment activities.

“We’re excited to be able to offer this service for local families,” said Alyssa Campbell, Childcare Director of the new program. “This program is a great way for kids to make friends and enjoy fun, physical activity in a safe, structured environment.”

The program is open to children K-8th grade. Families who participate in the program will also be able to register for sports classes, health & wellness activities, and family programs located at the YMCA of the Seacoast.

Campbell said that bus transportation from Greenland Central School to the program will be provided daily and full and part-time options are available. The program will also be open during school vacations, workshop days and early dismissal days. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. State assistance is also accepted.
