1 Dead In Salem Crash Involving Multiple Vehicles: Police

SALEM, NH — One person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on 1-95 Southbound in Salem Thursday afternoon, according to New Hampshire State Police.
The crash was reported around 4:25 p.m., with witnesses saying that a black 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe came upon heavy commuter traffic near the Massachusetts state line and failed to slow or stop in time to avoid crashing into a blue 2020 Chevrolet Trax, according to police.
All lanes were closed for several hours following the crash as traffic was diverted off Exit 1, police said.

Members of the Salem Fire Department attempted life-saving measures on the driver of the Chevrolet Trax, but the driver died at the scene, according to police.
All southbound lanes south of Exit 1 were shut down for around three hours while the crash scene was processed, with traffic being rerouted.

The roadway was fully reopened by 9:35 p.m.
