#60YearsStrong - IAFF Firefighters, MDA Hit the Road
New Hampshire firefighters participate in three-day ride from Pittsburg to Portsmouth.

75 cyclists will participate in a three day ride from Pittsburg, NH to Portsmouth, NH in the 28th Annual Firefighter Trans-NH Bike Ride to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and raise money to support the families served by MDA in New Hampshire.
They hit the road from Pittsburg to Portsmouth from June 26, to June 28, 2015.
According to organizers, the Trans-NH bike ride has a rich history that began in 1988, it was started by a group of Salem (Local 2892) Fire fighters two of whom are still heavily involved, retired Lt. Ron Gale and retired Captain Kevin Campbell. Without the support of Ron and Kevin and The Professional Fire Fighters of NH this ride would not be the success it is.

“As riders pedal across the Granite State it is important to remember that the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire and our locals have been solidly committed to finding a cure for neuromuscular diseases since we first began this event in 1988. Our organization, participation, fundraising, and strong support for MDA will continue until a cure is found” said David Lang President of the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire.
Funds raised through 2015 Trans NH Bike Ride support MDA’s life-enhancing programs such as state-of-the-art support groups and clinics, including the MDA Clinic at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Manchester and Lebanon. They also make MDA summer camp possible so kids with muscle disease can enjoy “the best week of the year” at Camp Agassiz in Poland, ME and nearly 80 other locations nationwide.
