ACHLS ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS OF THE “FRIEND OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HISTORY AND LEGAL STUDIES” AWARD

The American College of History and Legal Studies (ACHLS) announced Stacey Peters and Thomas Neal as recipients of the “Friend of the American College of History and Legal Studies” Award. The award is given to people within the community who have greatly promoted the college’s mission of a rigorous education in history and law, at an affordable cost, to teach students to be better thinkers and writers.
Dean Peter M. Malaguti and Dr. Jessica Parr of ACHLS conferred the awards in a ceremony at the school.
Professor Peters is the Department Head of the Paralegal Studies program and the Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate program at NHTI Concord's Community College in Concord, New Hampshire. She is a graduate of both Rivier College and Alfred University.

Peters accepted her award after an introduction from her former student and current ACHLS student, Noreen Cowdrey. "The ACHLS is a great opportunity for my students," Peters said. "I look forward to seeing some of my former students take advantage of this affordable educational opportunity."
Professor Neal, an adjunct professor of business law at Great Bay Community College, also received the award. In addition to teaching at GBCC, Neal practices law in Concord and is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law. "Some of my students express interest in the law and how it relates to society," said Neal. "What better place for those students to consider than the ACHLS?"

ABOUT ACHLS
The American College of History and Legal Studies was created by the Massachusetts School of Law. An affordable “completion” college offering the junior and senior years of undergraduate study toward a bachelor’s degree in history and legal studies, ACHLS also offers an "Early Admission To Law School" program in conjunction with the Massachusetts School of Law. Like its sister school MSL, all classes at ACHLS are taught exclusively using the discussion (not lecture) method of teaching.
