SALEM, NH — The Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting in Salem to celebrate the grand opening of Leaf and Lantern, LLC, a mobile bookstore serving Southern New Hampshire.
The event introduced the community to the business and its approach to books and specialty retail.
According to the Chamber’s announcement, guests got “an inside look at this one-of-a-kind mobile bookstore.” The release said the shelves are stocked with “carefully curated literary fiction” and surrounded by “thoughtfully selected candles, teas, and specialty items from local women-owned businesses.”
The business is owned by Vanessa Plowman, and the Chamber congratulated Plowman “on this exciting new venture and for creating a space that blends storytelling, community, and creativity in such a distinctive way.”
The Chamber described Leaf and Lantern as offering more than books alone. The business “delivers immersive, thought-provoking stories that spark conversation and inspire imagination, all brought directly into neighborhoods across Southern New Hampshire.”
The event also highlighted the Chamber’s role in promoting local businesses in the region. According to the announcement, the Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce remains committed to supporting local entrepreneurs through events, advocacy, and community engagement. The release said that work is aimed at helping foster “a vibrant and connected regional economy.”
