Salem Turf Depot Marks 90 Years With Visit By Governor At North Broadway Store

SALEM, NH — Turf Depot celebrated its 90th year in business Monday at its Salem store at 288 North Broadway.

The gathering brought together members of the Yennaco and Still families, along with friends, customers, brand vendors, and employees. Gov. Kelly Ayotte was also in attendance.

The business traces its roots to two separate companies, Granz Power Equipment and Still's Power Equipment. Granz had operated since 1936, and Still's since 1947, before the two stores later joined under one name.

In 2007, owners Bruce Yennaco of Granz and Joe Chevalier of Still's partnered to create Turf Depot. The company now operates stores in Salem, Londonderry, and Hooksett, and focuses on commercial and residential outdoor power equipment.

Among the products and services listed by the company are mowers, snow blowers, chain saws, trimmers, compact utility loaders, robotic mowers, parts, and service. The anniversary celebration also included recognition for employees who have been with the company for 10 to 40 years.

According to the company, the Yennacos is a community-involved family. The family has been part of the Windham Lions Club and founded the Windham Senior Citizens. Bruce and Jay Yennaco, along with Jay Yennaco's wife, Nicki, also run NEA Wildcats. Jay Yennaco recently had his Delahunty Nursery and Landscape business in Windham relocated to Derry.

The Stills have been part of the Manchester community for many years.
