DERRY, NH — Police are investigating a reported threat made toward West Running Brook Intermediate School after the department received the report just before noon on Friday.
Officers responded to the school, began an investigation right away, and worked with school administrators and other public safety partners. According to Capt. Jonathan Breen, the division Commander-operations with the department, officers conducted a thorough assessment of the situation. Based on the investigation so far, police determined the threat was not credible and said there is no known ongoing threat to students, staff or the school community.
Breen said the department takes all threats involving schools extremely seriously, including cases that are later determined to be hoaxes. According to the department, law enforcement will thoroughly investigate such cases and take appropriate action to identify those responsible.
The investigation remains ongoing, he said.
