SALEM, NH — Salem Animal Rescue League recently hosted a Business After Hours event with the Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, bringing Chamber members to the shelter for an evening focused on networking, community engagement, and support for animals in need.
Attendees brought donations for the shelter during the Salem event. Donors received raffle tickets for a fall-themed gift basket, which Chamber Board Member Nick Distelbrink won. Pearls Candy & Nuts of NH and Rig A Tony's Italian Takeout & Catering donated additional raffle prizes, and Black Water Grill provided food.
The event also gave attendees a chance to see part of the shelter's work up close. Chamber members toured portions of the facility, met cats and dogs available for adoption and learned more about the organization's mission and daily operations.
The Salem Animal Rescue League is described as a no-kill animal shelter that provides compassionate care, safe shelter, and permanent homes for animals in need. Its work includes caring for animals with medical needs, advocating for animals facing breed discrimination, and helping place animals in homes.
"Events like Business After Hours reflect the value of bringing local businesses and community organizations together," the Southern NH Chamber of Commerce said. "We are grateful to everyone who attended, contributed donations, and helped support the Salem Animal Rescue League and its mission."
The Chamber said it hosts events and networking opportunities throughout the year to help local businesses build relationships, collaborate and strengthen the regional business community. The release did not provide a total for donations collected at the Salem event.
