Arizona Man Arrested on Fourth Drunk Driving Charge

Salem Police bag Adrian Johnson outside the Red Roof Inn on numerous charges on Saturday.

Reportedly speeding on a local street during the early morning hours of Halloween led to a fourth DWI arrest for an Arizona man, according to Salem Police.

Adrian T. Johnson, 30, of Tuba City, AZ, was arrested on Oct. 31, 2015, and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated driving under the influence – fourth offense, reckless operation, and operating after revocation/suspension.

According to police, at just before 1:30 a.m., an officer reportedly observed a vehicle traveling over the 30 mph speed limit near the Red Roof Inn in Salem.

The vehicle was pulled over and the officer allegedly “was quickly able to observed signs of impairment and asked the operator to perform a series of field sobriety tests.” At the conclusion of the tests, it was determined that the driver, Johnson, was impaired and he was taken into custody, according to Lt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.

The officer then learned that Johnson had been previously convicted three times in both Arizona and New Mexico for driving while intoxicated.

Johnson was arraigned today in Salem District Court and held on $10,000 cash bail.
