Atkinson Fire Chief Murray Called ‘A Hero, Remembered And Honored’

SALEM, NH — Atkinson’s fire chief, a resident of Salem, has died, according to the town of Atkinson.

Atkinson Fire Chief Brian Murray died Sunday. He was the fire chief in Atkinson for more than two years and a firefighter for nearly 35 years.

In a statement, the town said he “exhibited extraordinary commitment to safeguarding lives and property,” and he was “instrumental in the growth and advancement” of the town’s fire department while “fostering a culture of professionalism, courage, and camaraderie among our firefighters.”

The town and department offered condolences to his family and said more information would be forthcoming.
