Birches Searches for Board Members

School will be open Sept. 4.

By the Birches Academy

The Birches Academy of Academics & Art is opening in Salem on Sept. 4, 2012.  We are a public charter school approved by the N.H. Department of Education in January of this year.  We began our process of opening a school in May, 2011 and have been working hard to bring this public school choice to Southern NH.

Our mission is to provide a learning community that supports excellence in core academics and the arts while cultivating the individual qualities and strengths of each child.  We have seven fundamental aspects that support and guide us in our mission.

A charter school is run by a Head of School, but governed by a Board of Trustees, which report directly to the N.H. Department of Education.  We are currently seeking Board Members to continue the great work we have accomplished to date.

We are presenting information on The Birches and what the responsibilities of a Board Member would include on June 21, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce, 81 Main Street, Salem.
