CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has confirmed the body found near a Derry golf course last week is that of a woman missing from the same area for a little more than five years.

Three days after the five year anniversary of the night she went missing, the skeletal remains of Amanda Tomy Grazewski, 23, were found in a swampy area of land near the Hoodkroft Country Club, about half a mile from where she was staying with friends on Birch Street. Her body was found after Jenness Keller of Sky Dog Thermal Imaging provided photos to police showing what appeared to be a possible anomaly in the water and images. Police analyzed the photos, began searching the area with the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit, and discovered her body.

After an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the AG’s Office confirmed the body was Grazewski Tuesday morning.

Grazewski was last seen in Derry around 12:30 a.m. on March 17, 2020, on Birch Street, where she was staying with a friend. At the time of the initial missing person report, police said she left the residence early in the morning without her purse, cell phone, or other belongings and vanished.

Capt. Vern Thomas of the Derry Police Department, who has been the media’s contact for the case, said there were few leads and only possible sightings in the early days after her disappearance. All were determined not to be her. A few months after she was reported missing, a reward was offered. Grazewski previously lived or frequented Hooksett, Hudson, Manchester, Nashua, and Salem.

During the next five years, detectives logged hundreds of investigative hours attempting to solve the case, including interviews, searches around town, Internet and social media examinations, and following up on tips. According to press reports, there were text messages on her cellphone from an unknown number. Grazewski’s Social Security card was found outside Elliot Hospital in Manchester nine days after she went missing.

Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the attorney general, said the investigation of her death was “ongoing.”

Attorney General John Formella said the department was thinking of Grazewski’s family during this challenging time.

“We extend our deepest sympathy to them,” he said. “I also want to express my gratitude to the dedicated law enforcement and forensic professionals involved in this case, as well as to the community members who have provided valuable tips throughout this investigation.”

Anyone with information related to Grazewski’s disappearance or death was asked to the Derry Police Department at 603-432-6111.
