Boom: Yes, That Was An Earthquake You Felt In Salem Last Night
U.S. Geological Survey confirms a 1.8 magnitude earthquake hit the town near the Millville Street wetlands Saturday.

SALEM, NH — The U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed that an earthquake hit the town of Salem Saturday. The 1.8 magnitude earthquake struck at 9:45 p.m. and was centered in the area Millville Street wetlands. It had a depth of 2.8 kilometers.
While New Hampshire is not known for earthquakes, there have been a number of mostly small ones, under 3 magnitude, during the past seven or eight years. In 2018, earthquakes were reported in Hopkinton, Sanbornton, and East Kingston. In 2017, one was reported in Bedford.
Others have been reported in Boscawen, Concord, Contoocook, Plymouth, and Warner.
