Bourdon: A Vote For Planned Parenthood
Derry Town Councilor, candidate for Executive Council District 3 seat, urges Chris Sununu to vote to approve the org's contract.

DERRY, NH - On the 29th of June, the Executive Council votes again on whether or not to approve the contract for Planned Parenthood. This is after having voted to defund Planned Parenthood in 2015. The deciding vote was cast by Executive Councilor Chris Sununu.

The fact is that Planned Parenthood’s contract should, and must, be approved. The vast and professional significant services Planned Parenthood provides are critical to the well being of New Hampshire families and for women specifically.

With a focus on reproductive health services, parenting education, and preventive care, Planned Parenthood has become a reliable and holistic epicenter for families and individuals in need.
At the next meeting of the Executive Council on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, I strongly urge Chris Sununu, the Executive Councilor I aim to replace in November, to support the new contract for Planned Parenthood, which, in fact, has been recommended by the NH Department of Health and Human Services. This contract will provide the critical funding, as well as a sense of comfort and relief, that so many of our fellow Granite State families need in regard to affordable and dignified healthcare.
