Firefighters Battle Huge Haverhill Blaze

WATCH: Mill building fire goes to seven alarms; numerous firefighters from two states are at the scene assisting.

Firefighters from Massachusetts and New Hampshire were called to Haverhill, MA, to battle a massive building fire that was reported at just before 5 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2015.

According to reports, the fire, located on Stevens Street in a mill building, quickly went to seven alarms, and firefighters around the region were called to assist in battling the blaze. Firefighters from as far away as Hampton and Londonderry were sent in to assist. New Hampshire residents are reporting seeing the smoke from as far away as Merrimack.

A number of fire watchers stated that the building, which was abandoned and vacant for a long period of time, appeared to be completely destroyed.

According to Mike Curtis of C&C Concrete, a neighboring business owner who was about to close on the building, there was a trash fire in the building on Wednesday.

“It’s a sad, sad day,” he said told Haverhill Journal.
