Santa Returns to Salem for 71st Annual Lions Club Tree Lighting
The Salem Lions Club will welcome Santa Claus back to town during its 71st Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Tuesday, December 2, at Veterans Park on Salem Common, 308 Main Street.
The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at the gazebo with opening remarks from Salem Lions Club President Michelle Ackroyd. The evening will feature music by Jimmy Kozcat and performances by choirs from North Salem United Methodist Church and St. Joseph School, who will lead the crowd in traditional Christmas carols.
State Senator Daryl Abbas will serve as this year’s featured speaker. In addition to sharing stories of his childhood in Salem, Senator Abbas will present the Salem Lions Club with a New Hampshire Senate Resolution recognizing the organization’s more than seven decades of service to the community.
As always, the event will include hot cocoa, cookies, and photo opportunities with Santa, making it a cherished kickoff to the holiday season for families throughout Salem.
The Salem Lions Club invites residents and visitors alike to join in celebrating the spirit of the season.
