Can You Help Plan Salemfest 2015?
An organization meeting will be held on May 26, to start planning for this year's event.

By Betty Gay
Every charity planning to participate in Salemfest 2015, or just thinking about it, is invited to call 603-818-1614 to reserve a spot for their representative at the Tuesday, May 26 luncheon Planning Meeting.
Reservations must be made by Saturday, May 23, for the noon event. No person may represent more than one organization. Any organization that cannot attend this luncheon meeting must be represented at the alternate evening meeting at Kelley Library on Monday, June 8, at 5:30 p.m. Charitable organizations just considering taking part this year are invited to make a reservation, too.

Salemfest is a two-day event held the third weekend in September where Salem volunteers host over 25 events for their organizations to show how they serve the community. Some do fundraising and volunteer recruitment as well. They all offer free or inexpensive fun things for kids and adults alike.
The events range from a huge book sale and booths on the Kelley Library lawn and tours of Salem’s three Historical Museums to SalemHaven’s Fall Festival, Greystone’s Chowderwalk, the professionally timed Salemfest 5K Race-Walk, the Boys and Girls Fun Day for Kids, Triumphant Cross’s International Dinner, St. David’s Craft Fair, entertainment at the Ingram Senior Center, and the SARL Car Show, to name the biggest events.

This will be the 12th Annual Salemfest, which was founded by five organizations in 2004: Kelley Library, Salem Animal Rescue League, Greystone Farm Assisted Living, SalemHaven Nursing Home and Rehab, Greater Salem Caregivers, and St. David’s Professional Crafters’ Fair. It has grown to more than 25 organizations that serve the Salem community.
And we have a whole summer to enjoy before the big weekend!
