Chamber to Honor Distinguished Businessperson on Sept. 21
Susan Covey will receive the award at the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce 28th annual dinner.

SALEM, NH — The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the recipient of the 2016 William A. Brown Distinguished Businessperson Award, according to a press statement. This year marks the 28th Anniversary of the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner, and the 35th presentation of this award, as it was originally presented by the Salem Commerce Exchange. The William A. Brown Award, the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce’s most prestigious award, is presented to an individual who has enhanced the business environment of the Greater Salem community. The award is given based on Business Leadership, Community Improvement, Charitable Involvement, Public Service, and High Moral Character. This award is given in the memory of William A. Brown, who was the first to receive it.
Carrying on with this great tradition, the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce and the Platinum Sponsor, Bank of New England, are very pleased to present the 2016 William A. Brown Businessperson of the Year Award to Susan Covey, executive vice president, director of branch administration, at Enterprise Bank.
A lifelong resident of Salem, Susan is proud to have attended Salem public schools and is a graduate of Southern NH University. She and her husband, Michael, raised two children, Tom and Katie, who have always supported her in her work and community service. Susan is a community banker at heart, with an over 25 year banking career. She opened the first NH branch of Enterprise Bank in December of 2004 as the Branch Relationship manager, and has been recognized with Enterprise Bank’s Excellence in Community Service Award, the Chairman’s Award, and several sales awards throughout her almost 12 years at the bank. Susan has been, and still is, active in leadership positions in many community organizations including: Salem Boys& Girls Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Friends of Service Link Dollars for Scholars, and the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce. She has also served the community of Salem, serving over the years on Salem’s: Board of Selectmen, Conservation Commission, Planning Board, and Budget Committee.

The Chamber will also be honoring the following volunteers for their hard work and dedication to the Chamber over the past year: Leeann Brooks, Brooks Law Office, with the Chairman’s Award, Karl Dubay, The Dubay Group, and Pat Good, Field of Dreams as Volunteers of the Year.
The presentations will take place on Sept. 21, 2016, at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner & Meeting. The event will be held at Atkinson Resort and Country Club, Atkinson, and will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m., with the presentation of awards immediately following. Tickets are $65 per person, with tables of 10 available.
