Charter School Coming to Salem Area?
The Eagle-Tribune reports Birches Academy of Academics & Art would have an arts-based curriculum.
The Eagle-Tribune reported last Friday the Salem area could see a new K-8 charter school as early as next fall.
According to the paper, the state Department of Education has granted approval for Birches Academy of Academics & Art and an organizer said they are looking for a location for a school for approximately 80 students.
The Eagle-Tribune reported the school would have an arts-based curriculum and a more-hands on education style than a public school.

SAU 57 Superintendent Michael Delahanty told the paper he has no opposition to a local charter school.
