SALEM, NH — A local woman was arrested twice yesterday after allegedly being involved in a shoplifting incident at the Mall at Rockingham Park, according to Salem Police. Emily Morin, 26, of Concord, was arrested on July 11, 2017, for willful concealment and possession of a controlled drug-Buprenorphine. At around 11 a.m. yesterday, officers were sent to Macy’s for a report of a shoplifting incident. After investigating the incident, Morin was arrested on the first round of charges. During the process of releasing her on bail, according to Sgt. Chad Clark of the Salem Police Department, investigators learned that her license and vehicle registration were suspended. Morin was then processed and released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.

At around 3:30 p.m., Morin reportedly returned to police headquarters with another woman and requested to speak with the arresting officer in the parking lot. There, she allegedly demanded her drugs back, according to a press statement.

“(The) officer explained to Morin he would not be handing her the drugs and walked back into the police station,” Clark alleged.

While doing so, the officer then allegedly saw Morin get into the driver’s side of a blue Volvo S60. He radioed dispatch and confirmed that her license and registration were suspended, which they were, and then ran over to stop the vehicle.

“He ordered her to stop,” Clark alleged, "(and) told Morin to step out of the car and she refused. (The) officer told Morin her license and registrations were still under suspension and she was under arrest, however, she still refused to step out of car.”

The officer allegedly forced to open the door to escort Morin out of the vehicle but she still reportedly refused attempts to be handcuffed. The officer “was forced to hold her against the car while Morin struggled with him” and “was eventually able to force her hands together in order to apply handcuffs,” Clark stated.

Morin was held and was scheduled to be arraigned this morning, according to police.

Previously, according to reports online, Morin was arrested in Londonderry in March 2016, on a warrant after a motor vehicle stop on Nashua Road.
