Copper Door Restaurant Expands to Salem

SALEM, NH — Tom Boucher, CEO of Great NH Restaurants, parent company of the Copper Door Restaurant located in Bedford, has announced that after a two year search for a suitable location, the second Copper Door Restaurant will be built at 41 South Broadway (Route 28) in Salem. Boucher reported that plans are already underway to build an entire new facility, patterned after the first Copper Door, according to a press statement.

The location provides great access to both southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts diners, with easy access from I-93, and close proximity to the Rockingham Mall.

“We’ve really done our homework,” stated Boucher. “We feel this location will be perfect for our Copper Door concept and a great compliment to our T-BONES Great American Eatery concept also located nearby. The greater Salem area is posed for tremendous growth in the next few years and we want to be a part of it.”

The new Copper Door Restaurant is scheduled to be built and open by the fall of 2017. It will be 8,300 square feet and will include two private dining rooms and outdoor patio.

“After 30 successful years here in Salem, we are saddened by this closure. That another locally operated restaurant group will be further developing the property contributed greatly to our difficult decision,” said current property owner Terry Gagner.

For those not familiar with the popular Copper Door Restaurant, they describe their menu as “Approachable New American and Upscale Comfort Foods.” The Bedford location is quickly approaching their five year anniversary and guests at the Copper Door enjoy a wide ranging, and inventive combination of tastes featuring local sources, New England seafood, classic yet inspired stone oven creations, hand-cut Reserve Premium Steaks, unique salads, and House specialties that personify Copper Door’s passion & respect of fine food and classic culinary technique. They have received many “Best of” awards as well as “Award of Excellence” by Wine Spectator for five consecutive years. Boucher also noted that they will plan to bring some 100 new jobs to the Salem area.

Great NH Restaurants operates five T-BONES Great American Eatery locations: Bedford, Salem, Hudson, Derry and Laconia, two Cactus Jack’s Great West Grill locations: Laconia and Manchester, and the Copper Door Restaurant in Bedford.
