Debris Causing Issues for Salem Explosion Investigation: Photos
Salem Police release photos of the Irving Street home that was blown up yesterday. Booby traps were reportedly set up at the property.
SALEM, NH — The Salem Police Department has released pictures of the scene of a home explosion at 20 Irving St. in Salem that occurred yesterday afternoon. Capt. Joel P. Dolan, the operations support bureau commander for the Salem Police Department, sent out the pictures and video, too, showing the debris and damage that he noted were hindering the recovery effort on April 4, 2017.
Police updated the media at 4 p.m. today.

No identification has been made, at this point in the investigation, he noted, but investigators believe that the man passed away due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Consumer fireworks were also reportedly found at the scene.

Investigators announced the discovery of a body in the basement of the home and that the property was full of booby traps that investigators suspect were put in place to hamper police and fire efforts. This revelation has led them to suspect that the person involved in the case had intentionally planned on blowing the building up.
