Derry Police Investigate Fatal Crash At Hampstead Road Intersection; Victim ID'd
Police said Monica McCarthy, who was driving a car, was taken to Parkland Medical Center on Wednesday, where she was pronounced dead.
DERRY, NH — A woman died after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon, according to the Derry Police Department.
Police reported the crash, at the intersection of Hampstead Road and Nutmeadow Lane in Derry, was called in just before 1 p.m. Responding officers found a 2017 Toyota Corolla with significant damage to the driver’s side. A 1998 Peterbilt dump truck was also involved in the crash, police said.
The driver of the Toyota, identified later as Monica McCarthy, 24, of Derry, suffered serious injuries and was taken by Derry Fire Department personnel to Parkland Medical Center.

Police said she was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the truck was ID'd as Steven Morse, 43, of Hampstead.

There were no other occupants in either vehicle. Hampstead Road was closed on both sides of the intersection with Nutmeadow Lane while the Derry Police Department Accident Investigation Unit processed the crash scene.
