Diaper Derby Set for MARP Tomorrow

Crawlers start your "engines!" The Mall at Rockingham Park prepares to host their first Simon Mall Diaper Derby!

The event is being regionally sponsored by WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition Program, Stonyfield and Bay State Parent magazine.

It will take place at the Mall's Center Court from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Neighbors Helping Newborns, an organization that delivers handmade and donated baby items to area hospitals, has also signed on as the non-profit event partner of the Mall at Rockingham Park. Participants in this year’s Derby must be new crawlers to race against each other in a fun competition that will also include other activities such as:
 
·         Fun with vendor Little Sprouts, featuring interactive games, coloring sheets, crayons, bubbles, and great giveaways
·         Fantastic enter to win prizes currently valued over $700
·         Mommy lounge, with makeovers and spa treatments
·         Athlete re-coup station provided by Yogibo and LoveSac
·         Dance demos from Dance Images Dance & Music Center
·         Family activities like hand & foot prints by H&M, comic books from Skechers and coloring with Josh's Toys and Games
·         Goody bags filled with exclusive deals and giveaways while supplies last.
 
Collections for Neighbors Helping Newborns will assist area hospitals aiding families in need. Donation items needed include: bibs, sweaters, blankets, hats, onesies and other clothing items for preemie to three-month-old newborns.
 
There will be 36 Crawlers at each mall. There are six "racers" per heat and then the winner from each of the six heats competes for the 1^st prize, 2^nd prize and 3^rd prize. There will be an award ceremony for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place winners in the Crawler category.

Parents can also register the day of Diaper Derby on a first come, first served basis as there are limited slots. Pre-registration is encouraged.
