Drain Cleaners Cause Evac at Salem Police HQ
Fire officials: Three officers transported as a precaution.

SALEM, NH – The Salem Police Department was evacuated for a hazardous materials call at just after 12:30 p.m. on June 10, 2016, that turned out to be a drain cleaner mix issue, according to the fire department.
Police reported on Twitter that business lines were down at the stationhouse and all emergency calls would be answered by 911 due to the evacuation.
At just before 1:15 p.m., the Salem Fire Department reported that the haz mat issue was “to inadvertent mixing of drain cleaners in a sink,” according to a post on Twitter. Three officers have been transported as a precaution, fire officials stated.
