The American Red Cross will be holding a Babysitter Training class at the Salem Town Hall on Oct. 3, 5 & 12 from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
This class is for children ages 10-15. The course covers a wide range of topics that children should know before they begin babysitting: diapering, feeding, how to handle temper tantrums (and other behavior problems), safe play, first aid, and what to do in an emergency. This class is a lot of fun, with plenty of activities, skill practice and group discussions. Most importantly it teaches kids how to be safe and responsible without adult supervision. A must-do for any new babysitter, as well as those who have a little more experience under their belt. All participants that successfully complete the course will receive American Red Cross Babysitter Training certification, Babysitter Training handbook, CD-Rom, and Emergency Reference Guide – all great resources to use while on the job!
Fee: $90
