Ever thought about trying stand-up comedy? Now’s your chance to stop thinking about it and get onstage!
Join professional comedian and Boston Comedy Festival founder Jim McCue for a six-week, hands-on stand-up comedy experience at McCue’s Comedy Club in Portsmouth, NH.
Whether you’ve always wanted to try comedy, want to become more comfortable speaking in front of people, or already have some material you’d like to improve, this class is designed to help you find your funny and develop your own comedic voice.
From the very first class, students will get onstage. Over five weeks, we’ll work on finding material, writing and rewriting jokes, setups and punchlines, timing, delivery, stage presence, building a set, and connecting with an audience. We’ll also touch on audience interaction, thinking on your feet, and what to do when things don’t go exactly as planned.
And then we put it all to the test.

<a href="https://www.rockin4vets.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rockin’ 4 Vets</a> presents Guitar Monsters, featuring Johnny A., Jon Butcher,&nbsp;and Dave Amato, for a benefit concert supporting Liberty House and its work with New Hampshire veterans. The show brings three accomplished rock guitarists to Derry for an evening of live music while raising funds for veterans’ housing and support services.
Johnny A. and Butcher are well known to the Tupelo crowd, but a new addition to the Monsters line-up is Dave Amato. Dave is the former long time lead guitarist for <a href="https://www.reospeedwagon.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">REO Speedwagon</a>&nbsp;and on a short break before finishing up 2026 touring with former Eagle, <a href="https://www.donfelder.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Don Felder. </a>As well; Dave spent extended periods of time touring with the likes of Cher,&nbsp;Ted Nugent and Richie Sambora.
So you're in for a great night of guitar rock, knowing Johnny and Jon, and we can expect some REO and Eagles in the show. But more importantly you're in a for a great night of music and the opportunity to assist a great veterans organization.
