Update: Filing Period For Salem Town Offices Underway
Board of selectman, town clerk, planning board, and filing for other seats starts soon. Also, important dates voters will need to know.

SALEM, NH — Voters in Salem have Town Meeting in February and will go to the polls on March 10 to elect new town officers. But before that occurs, candidates will need to file. The filing period for the board of selectmen and other municipal races will begin at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 22 and run through 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, according to Town Clerk Susan Wall.
Candidates must be registered voters in Salem to participate. The town election will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.

- Board of Selectmen: 3-years, two seats, currently held by Arthur Barnes and Mike Lyons.
- Town Clerk: 3-years, vote for one, currently held by Susan Wall.
- Tax Collector: 3-years, vote for one, currently held by Cheryl-Ann Bolouk.
- Town Moderator: 2-years, vote for one, currently held by Christopher Goodnow.
- Treasurer: 3-years, vote for one, currently held by John Sytek.
- Budget Committee: 3-years, vote for two, currently held by Steven Goddu and Thomas Plante.
- Library Trustee: 3-years, vote for one, currently held by Kathleen Norton.
- Trustee of the Trust Funds: 3-years, vote for one, currently held by Carol Houle.
- Planning Board: 3-years, vote for two, currently held by Beverly Donovan and Robert Gibbs.
- Zoning Board of Adjustment: 3-years, vote for two, currently held by Bernard Campbell and Jeffrey Hatch.
The first deliberative session for Town Meeting will be held at Salem High School beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Salem School District deliberative session will be meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Salem High School.
Citizen petitions of up at least 25 registered voters must be received by 5 p.m. Jan. 14.
