Five Places to Shop on Black Friday

This year many places will be open late on Thanksgiving Day.

The kick-off of the holiday shopping season is a typically busy time for Salem, with its many big-box stores and lots of chances to get a head start on gifts or something for yourself. Here's our Black Friday rundown:

1. MALL AT ROCKINGHAM PARK: The mall's doors will open bright and early at 4 a.m. on Friday and will remain open until 10 p.m. to accomodate holiday shoppers. If 4 a.m. isn't early enough, and the will be open at midnight on Friday.

2. BEST BUY: A special treat is in store for shoppers with an exclusive big-screen, outdoor viewing of the blockbuster film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 starting at 9 p.m. Thursday. Only the Salem and Manchester stores are hosting these Harry Potter screenings in New Hampshire. The store will then open at midnight.

3. ROCKINGHAM MALL: Check out the stores at the Cluff Crossing Road plaza including Christmas Tree Shoppes, Kohl's, , , , and among others.

4. WAL-MART, TARGET, K-MART: shoppers can get a head start at 10 p.m. Thursday while opens up at midnight. will open at 5 a.m. Friday.

5. HOME IMPROVEMENT SPOTS: and will both open up at 6 a.m. on Friday.
