Front load washers not draining

One of the most common problems I see in front load washers are drain problems.

Most of front loads when having this issue can be fixed by the consumer in relatively short time.

For appliances that are made by whirlpool such as maytag and some kenmore products you will only need a couple tools. The hardest part is removing the bottom access panel. Tip the washer back and you will see two to three screws holding the panel on remove these screws and tilt the panel out. Once off you will see the pump right up front on the bottom of the washer. Attached to the pump you will the lint filter housing. Using a pair of pliers for leverage, turn the cap counter clock wise and pull out. Make sure you have a few towels or a wet vac at this point to catch the remaining water in the washer. If the filter is blocked, clean it and reverse the process. The filter have a key located at 12 o'clock position line them up and the filter will go back in with ease.

Frigidaire and Electrolux:
Unless you have an older model with a bottom panel these are very difficult pumps to clean out. Without the experience there is to much that can go wrong. I would recommend calling a service company.

LG and Samsung products have filters similar to whirlpool but LG does not require you to remove the front panel it's located  in the lower left corner of the washer. There is a small tube there as well that you can use to safely drain the  water out from. It's takes a why but it beats dumping 3 -5 gallons on your floor.
