Get Ready To Vote On March 13, Salem
The polls will be open in town from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.

SALEM, NH — Salem’s town election will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. There are five polling locations in town: District 1 - Fisk School, 14 Main St.: District 2 - Soule School, 173 South Policy St.; District 3 - Barron School, 55 Butler St.; District 4 - Ingram Senior Center, 1 Sally Sweets Way; and District 6 - North Salem School, 140 Zion Hill Road. On Tuesday, voters will be asked to consider a fiscal year 2019 budget of $46.6 million. If it is not approved, the default budget will be set at just shy of $43.8 million.
Salem has five contested town races this year. Three candidates are seeking two three-year seats on the Board of Selectmen. Incumbent James Keller is facing off against Steve Boyd and Robert Bryant.

The Budget Committee has three positions available with eight candidates running. By order of how they appear on the ballot, they are Michael Mackey, Patrick McDougall, Terrence Scanlan, William Carino, Peter Edgerly, Dane Hoover, Paul Huard, and Sean Lewis.
Three candidates – Barry Pietrantonio, Teressa Holland, and Carol Houle – are running for a single seat on the Trustee for the Trust Funds.

The planning board and ZBA also have competitive races.
Paul Pelletier, Michael Banks, and Keith Belair are running for two three-year planning board seats while Michael Smith, John Manning, and George Perry are running for two three-year ZBA seats.
SAU 57 is asking voters to approve a nearly $78 million budget for fiscal year 2019. If not approved, a default budget of $71.9 million will be accepted.
Three candidates – Pamela Berry, Michael Carney Jr., and Kelly Moss – are all running for two, three-year school board positions.
