Girl Scout Bronze Award Project

Girl Scout Troop 10785 is pleased to announce the donation of six FIDO bags (pet rescue kits) to the Salem Fire Department.

Girl Scout Troop 10785 is pleased to announce the donation of six FIDO bags (pet rescue kits) to the Salem Fire Department. The FIDO Bags, provided by the nonprofit Fetch Foundation, supply firefighters with lifesaving tools to administer medical attention to your pet at the point of rescue.Several girls from the troop chose the FIDO Bag project as the focus of their Bronze Award project.  The Bronze Award is the highest award Girl Scout Juniors can achieve.  In addition to receiving a mini-grant from the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, the girls ran a very successful fundraiser with a yard sale, bake sale and lemonade stand.  Community education is also an important part of earning this award. The girls set up and ran a pet safety information booth on the day of the fundraiser, provided information at SalemFest, and have had a Pet Safety Information display at Kelley Library for the month of September. If you haven’t had a chance to see their displays come check them out at the Fire Department open house on October 4th. Congratulations to all of the girls for the completion of their project!

Troop 10785 Parent Volunteer
