Grants for Historic Preservation Planning Available

The N.H. Division of Historical Resources has a new grant program available to Rockingham County.

The N.H. Division of Historical Resources has announced a new grant program to assist historic preservation disaster planning needs in six New Hampshire counties, including Rockingham County, according to a press statement.

Pre-Disaster Planning Grants for Historic Properties will fund projects that lay the groundwork for recovery in the event of a disaster, as well as for other preservation planning initiatives. A range of projects are eligible for funding, including: new or updated historical surveys, National Register nominations, community- and property-specific disaster plans, archaeological site stabilization, and others.

Funds have been made available under the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act of 2013. Historic properties in six of New Hampshire’s 10 counties – Belknap, Carroll, Coös, Grafton, Rockingham and Sullivan – are eligible for this funding. No matching funds are required, however, they are encouraged.
