Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce Attempts to Get to 500 Members

"The Chamber 500 – Driving your Business Forward" effort offers a discounted first year membership, expanded visibility.

SALEM, NH — The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce will be holding a membership drive, with the goal of reaching 500 members, according to a press statement. Appropriately named “The Chamber 500 – Driving your Business Forward,” the organization has themed the event to reflect the thrill of car racing, as well as its goal to reach 500 members. It will be offering a first year special for new members of only $250 for the first year in the month of October.

The timing of this drive is not random. Three years ago, the Chamber took a new approach to its Business Guide, increasing production and distribution. The Chamber went from printing 2,000 publications, which were passively picked up at local town halls and the Chamber office, to printing and mailing the Guide directly to 28,000 homes and 2,000 businesses in the Greater Salem Area. The towns included in the distribution area are Atkinson, Hampstead, Pelham, Salem and Windham.

“The Chamber knows that local business is the heart of the community," stated Chamber President, Donna Morris. When potential customers are looking for a product or service, we want them utilizing Chamber Members and supporting businesses that support the community. That’s why we have timed our membership drive to coincide with the deadline to be included in our Magazine and Chamber Business Guide, of November 1, 2016."

In addition to the Business Listing, Members have the opportunity to expand their company’s visibility, and better showcase various products and services, by running full-color display ads.

“To reach 500 members would be a significant milestone for our organization," she noted. "It would give us a stronger voice in Concord, provide more networking opportunities for our members, and bring additional business perspectives to help our organization continue to stay fresh and relevant.”
