Greater Salem ​Chamber Recognizes Outstanding Women​

The 10th Annual Hidden Jewel Awards, in partnership with Salem Co-operative Bank, will be held on Oct. 11.

SALEM, NH — The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the winners of the 10th Annual Hidden Jewel Awards, according to a press statement. The Hidden Jewel Awards is a program developed through the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Salem Co-operative Bank, to honor the area’s most priceless women – truly “precious gems.” These awards are intended to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of women who have excelled in their chosen field or vocation, defined their role through their initiative and dedication, while establishing a record of leadership and involvement. The 2017 Hidden Jewel Award winners are:

  • Mother of Pearl – Margaret Case
  • Diamonds in the Rough – Kathryn Tripp & Madigan Ann Farrell
  • Sapphire – Karen Fournier
  • Topaz – Cindy Jury
  • Emerald – Siri Wilbur Kamien
  • Ruby – Phylis Marchulaitis
  • Pink Diamond – Cheri maw

This year’s guest speaker is Susan Kanoff, Executive Director & Founder of Uncommon Threads.

Out of her passion for empowering women, Susan has combined her unique mix of experience & skills as a social worker, wardrobe stylist and style blogger to launch Uncommon Threads. Susan has dedicated over 23 years to helping low income families move out of poverty through the HUD funded Family Self-Sufficiency Program, & has received numerous awards for her work including The YWCA’s Tribute to Women Award, NAHRO awards for program innovation and a Massachusetts state citation for her dedication to supporting families.
