Greater Salem, Derry Londonderry Chambers to host U.S. Senate Forum

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Gov. Maggie Hassan will speak at event moderated by Scott Spradling on Oct. 28.

SALEM, NH — The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce will host a U.S. Senate Forum from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Searles School and Chapel in Windham. U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Gov. Maggie Hassan will be on hand to discuss business issues and share their respective visions for the country’s future, according to a press statement.

The event will be moderated by Spradling Group principal and former WMUR Political Director Scott Spradling.

“This matchup between a sitting U.S. Senator and a sitting New Hampshire governor is one of the most high profile races in the country this year,” said Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce President Donna Morris. “Forum attendees can expect a robust and exciting discussion.”

“And the stakes in this race couldn’t be much higher,” continued Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce President Will Stewart. “New Hampshire voters have the chance to decide which party controls the U.S. Senate, and with it the power to confirm at least one U.S. Supreme Court justice and the next President’s entire cabinet.”

The event will feature a moderated discussion with each candidate, including time for moderated questions from the audience.

The U.S. Senate Forum is sponsored by Derry Medical Center and The Pink Publik House. Refreshments will be provided by Roth & Augeri Law Group.

Admission to the U.S. Senate Forum is free, but seating is limited and advance online registration is required. To register for the event visit gschamber.com or gdlchamber.org.

Independent Aaron Day and Libertarian Brian Chabot are also on the ballot but it is unknown at post time whether or not they have been invited to participate. Christopher Booth is also running as a write-in candidate.
