Grosky to Run for Rockingham County Attorney

Salem prosecutor, Atkinson selectman tries again to win the seat currently held by Patricia Conway.

ATKINSON, NH - Jason Grosky announced on March 22, 2016, that he is running again for the Republican nomination for Rockingham County Attorney in September, challenging current County Attorney Patricia Conway, in a primary re-match that won two years ago by a little less than 1,000 votes in a four-way race.

In a press statement, Grosky said a number of residents from around the county have asked him to run again and said he would work to bring stakeholders in the county together to focus on the heroin epidemic.

“The frightening reality is that we are losing the battle against the opioid epidemic,” he said. “Our police departments and courts are on the frontline of this fight every day and they need reinforcement. We need an army of our top law enforcement officers, community leaders, educators and lawmakers to come up with a county-wide plan that addresses education, the shortage of substance abuse help, and a plan that shows no mercy for anyone caught dealing these deadly substances.”

Grosky released a three-point plan to fight the opioid crisis that would include requesting “the maximum amount” of resources for the county to expand treatment and law enforcement funds, especially along the I-93 corridor – Salem, Windham, Derry, and Londonderry. He also proposed expanding anti-heroin education programs in schools and more stringent laws for prescription medications, heroin, and fentanyl, in New Hampshire.

“This is not a fight that will be won standing in a courtroom or by going to a few schools and lecturing kids,” Grosky said. “The County Attorney needs to show leadership, have vision, and fight to keep our families safe. It’s what I do everyday as a prosecutor, as an elected official, and as a community volunteer. I am asking you to vote for me in September and let me fight this battle for all of Rockingham County.”
