Salem Wood Recycling Plant Fire Goes to Four Alarms

Police are warning residents about the fire on Lowell Road tonight.

Salem Police are reporting a massive fire at the L.L.S. Wood Recycling plant on Lowell Road.

According to reports on Twitter, the fire started at just before 9 p.m. in a debris pile and then spread to the plant. At 9:10 p.m., a second alarm was issued and mutual aid was called in to fight the blaze. At 9:30 p.m., the fire went to three alarms. At just before 10 p.m., it went to four alarms. At just after 10:40 p.m., a fifth alarm equivalent was called, according to posts on Twitter, but later cancelled.

No one was reported injured at the scene, according to police.
