
Six incumbent state representatives and three newcomers, all Republicans, will be representing Salem at the Statehouse next session, according to unofficial returns by the Associated Press.
State Reps. Gary Azarian, Ronald Belanger, Bob Elliott, John Sytek, Joe Sweeney, and Anne Priestley, all won re-election with between 5,500 and 5,000 votes. Republicans Arthur Barnes, Fred Doucette, and John Manning, all newcomers.
Seven Democrats – Beth Roth, Stephanie Micklon, Jane Lang, Harley Featherston, Camron Iannalfo, and Dennis Iannalfo – all received between 4,000 and 2,400 votes but were unsuccessful.

In the state Senate race, Republican Chuck Morse, the president of the Senate, easily won by more than 6,000 votes (12,928 to 6,727).
In the Executive Council District 3 race, incumbent Republican Christopher Sununu easily won re-election against Robin McLane by nearly 21,000 votes.
