Indictments Handed Down for Chainsaw, Phone, Clothing Thefts

The indictments were handed down this month by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury.

Three people were indicted by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury this month for thefts that took place in Salem.

Junior Plaisir of 495 Old Wellington Road, Manchester was indicted on one count of theft by deception, one count of theft by unauthorized taking and one count of attempted theft by deception. According to the indictments, he obtained a Home Depot merchandise credit on May 22 by concealing stolen items in a bag and then returning them for store credit, pretending that he had purchased them. Among the stolen items was a chainsaw.

Also indicted this month was Joseph Roderick of 6-1/2 Floyd Road, Derry on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking. The indictment said he stole a Virgin Mobile cell phone from KMart on May 23 by taking it off the shelf and walking out of the store without paying for it.

A Methuen, MA woman, Jennifer Rodriguez of 2 Merrill St., was also indicted for theft by unauthorized taking. The indictment states that she stole shoes and clothing valued in excess of $1,000 from Kohl's on April 26.
