Intoxicated Women with Babies, ‘Barely Able to Stand,’ Arrested: Cops
Salem Police charged Baylie Lecolst and Amber Giordano with child endangerment; one was allegedly lying in a puddle while holding a baby.
SALEM, NH — Two women with small children were arrested last night at the mall after allegedly becoming so intoxicated they could barely stand up, according to Salem Police. Baylie Lecolst, 22, pictured left, of Salem, and Amber Giordano, 24, of Hampstead, were arrested on Sept. 19, 2016, and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

An officer working a detail at the Mall at Rockingham Park was tipped off to two reportedly intoxicated women with children in the parking lot at just after 6 p.m. last night, according to an alert.

Other officers were called to the mall and when they went to the area of the parking lot, they reportedly found one of the women lying in a puddle, holding a small infant above her head, according to Capt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.
“While speaking with the females, it was determined the infants were 1 month and 4 months old,” Dolan reported. “The females were also determined to be the biological mother of the infants. Officers noticed that the females were barely able to stand, let alone care for the infants. Both were taken into custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.”

Both Lecolst and Giordano were processed and released on personal recognizance bail. They are due in court on Oct. 31.
Dolan noted that the children were released to the custody of family members and juvenile investigators from the NH DCYF will follow-up on the case.
